Patient Education: Flexible Dentures

Flexible dentures, also known as comfort flex dentures, are crafted from pliable, lifelike, and semi-transparent resin materials, with Valplast being a premium option. These clear dentures can be customized to match your gum color, earning them the name “invisible dentures.” Traditional dentures, made from acrylic and metal, can’t match the aesthetics of flexible dental plates, and some patients may experience allergic reactions to their materials.

Valplast is a thermoplastic nylon resin used in flexible dental flippers. Compared to acrylic materials, it offers superior biocompatibility, eliminating allergic reactions. This flexible resin denture material provides enhanced flexibility, resulting in better adaptation and wearing comfort.

Not necessarily. Full dentures require high stability, and flexible removable partial dentures, due to their pliable nature, are typically not recommended for complete mouth restoration. However, exceptions exist – patients with allergies to traditional denture materials and metals, or those with unique oral structures unsuitable for rigid prosthetics, should discuss the possibility of flexible base full dentures with their dentist.

With proper maintenance, acrylic flexible dentures typically last 5-8 years. Since conditions vary by individual, we recommend consulting your dentist for specific care instructions.

While we appreciate your interest in Istar, as a dental laboratory, we exclusively partner with dental professionals. You’ll need to consult a dentist to determine your custom solution, and we’ll fabricate your dental flexible partials according to their specifications. We encourage you to recommend Istar to your dentist – our competitive pricing helps reduce their operational costs, potentially resulting in savings for you as well.
