The first step in making a partial denture is the preparation of the teeth. During this phase the dentist may prepare the teeth that the partial denture will use for support. Next, The dentist will take an accurate impression of the upper and lower arches of your patient’s mouth and records the bite. The impressions are then sent to the dental laboratory.This is the first phase to make partial denture. It’s take about few hours in the clinic.
The second phase is process in dental lab. The dental tenicians will pour the model or 3D printed the model of patient , then wax set-up for the teeth and send back to the dentist and dentist will try out if the teeht is seating well with patient’s mouth. This phase is take about 1-2 days in dental lab.
At the subsequent visits the dentist will evaluate the patient’s bite, test the speech and check the appearance and function of the partial denture teeth and gums.After the final satisfactory fit and appearance are achieved, the denture is then sent back to the laboratory for final fabrication. This step will spend 2-3 days.
So the whole process to making a partial denture requires about 3-4 weeks including the shipment time and make the apoointment with the patient. however this can vary from one patient to another. It also could depend on the type of denture and the technique the dentist or the laboratory technician uses.
